Chris Anderson's 98th full-length album release.

Back in June of 2021, a song came to me. It was called "Mad Rain". I was not in a place to be writing new songs, as the previous year had been a very busy writing year, but of course I had to run with it (i can never forsake a potential song). "Mad Rain" was a very fitting one to start with, as a virtual monsoon of songs came flying forth. Within three months I had 283 new songs (and a shitload of anxiety).

The following year, I set out to perform every single one of them, in a series of 23 webcasted concerts, and each night's set was re-recorded soon after. Many of those recordings featured overdubs and some pretty solid demos came out of that. In fact, my 2022 RPM Challenge album, The Solipsist, was drawn from some of those sessions.

The rest of the year was spent solidifying those songs, with another demo album called Standing Sideways On The Sun coming into being as well. Between those two releases came the first fully produced album from those songs - an album called The Catalyst, which was my 2023 RPM Challenge submission.

Plans soon came for a follow-up album, titled Goodbye Eden. A track list was devised, a demo sequence was burned to disc, and full cover art was created. But I kept sitting on recording the album, for whatever reason. Then came the 2024 RPM Challenge, and sessions for the album finally began in earnest.

At the time these sessions began, I was nearing the end of a three-month leave of absence from work, due to a major shoulder surgery. In three days, the basic tracks were laid down for each song, while overdubs continued for the next few weeks, as my shoulder allowed. It soon became clear that this was not an album of pop songs. These songs are a bit dark, a bit heavy, a bit weird, and most of them are quite long. It also turned out quite well and is an album that I love very much.

There are still (as of this writing) well over 200 songs that are awaiting their turn. Ideally, every one of them will be recorded and placed. At the very least, the good ones will. Stay tuned. In the meantime, dig this wicked set.
