A LOVELY PLACE it's funny how we turn our backs against each other now standing silently, we're racing violently back home breaking down another place where we discovered love get your act together they said, better head back home it's such a lovely place such a lovely place, and i don't know she's got a lovely face got a lovely face that i don't know stand up, look back to your childhood ends and i begin again the storyteller speaks a sign and sign, and endless pantomime how did we ever come to look in reverie to our time take me back too long back to the place where i belong it's such a lovely place such a lovely place, and i don't know she's got a lovely face got a lovely face that i don't know where were you when we ran to to that place so far behind i cannot remember that december sky, so cold now we've moved along we're singing different songs way out of key if i could, i'd see you one more time just out of novelty it's such a lovely place such a lovely place, and i don't know she's got a lovely face got a lovely face that i don't know -1/6/93

Privacy 04:27
PRIVACY i walk this subtle monument a memoir of another life a life i left behind pardon me, as i shall walk away and dream upon another day another frame of mind what you say cannot affect me now but what you do can anger so forget me now what you hear and what i say to you may not amount to anything so leave me now yes i know, i know that time moves on flare dog baby has an open book a chapter torn and sold to you resting in your head filthy secrets garnish everyday like everyday was yesterday yeah, that's what she said the passage to utopia is barred and locked for none to see so you may never leave it's just like a lie does not exist unless there's someone to believe yes i know, i know that time moves on walk along and toss aside the evidence of your own lie to forget the past and live tomorrow as a brand new day not focused on yesterday it can never last but if you don't believe in yesterday there won't be another day to be left behind blinders only rose your view the skeptic's criticism's leaving you and, as all, you're blind yes i know, i know that time moves on -March 1993

ALL FALL DOWN ring around the rosie a pocket full of gold with a dream in my head and my feet on the ground we all fall down every tear turns to hide away with many rivers to cross with a dream in my head and my feet on the ground we all fall down yes i know, it's been said before everything coincides with that dream in my head and my feet on the ground we all fall down the fires keep to their flicker and flame the dancer closes her eyes with a dream in my head and my feet on the ground we all fall down the sky turns dark as we all run and hide memories start to fade with a dream in my head and my feet on the ground we all fall down yes i know, it's been said before everything coincides with that dream in my head and my feet on the ground we all fall down ring around the rosie a pocket full of gold with a dream in my head and my feet on the ground we all fall down -Fall 1993

TAKE THE SUN AND SING ...and another passerby eclectic, without wearing hats he goes into town he's scraping by on what he has and that's not much mrs. green is washing windows for her christmas day, so long and it rains so hard that the other side is fading and i can't tell what the signs read it's as dim as a fireplace burnt out the sky, it crumbles landing in my two hands where's your payment? i said that i was tapped out for the fall greed is money and the grass is growing greener over there the grey cloud's bursting drenching us with all the tears from up above and this hole in my wall is growing well, i don't know what to say my silence is my only solace don't make me speak when i have nothing to say and she'll take the sun and sing but i'd never know the tune that she sang to me back then so i'll hum my own melody yeah, she'll take the sun and sing but i could not care less just leave me be, just leave me alone just leave me the fuck alone there goes that man who begged me for my change though i had none here comes the sun burning brighter if i could sleep, to sleep, to sleep i'd sleep a quarter century in red the plate glass window is breaking, pane by pane so i pick up my pieces of a broken yesterday wake up! your dream is over tell me what's going on the sun is taken sing a song, a futile hymn the sun is taken but if you ask me i don't believe it... -12/11/92

LADY IN A POOL i saw you in your black dress and your satin shroud and i tasted you, you were sweetness under a black cloud if you don't mind my asking say, what the hell was i doing there? hazy shades and seasons changed a blank stare your puling gave me grief as i turned to walk away temptation, and your sweet sin beckoned me to stay you think that i'm surprised that i remember everything but i can not forget this despite all i have seen it's not as if i walked away it's not as if i'd said i'd stay keep hiding in your frozen time to stay way out of line i shudder as i think back to all those other days it was then that i gave that sevret that gave my life away but it had been such a long, long time since i'd seen that side of you well now, i have seen enough i've got better things to do it's not as though i walked away it's not as though i said i'd stay keep hiding in your frozen mind and stay way out of line -June 1993

Tommy Blue 04:29
TOMMY BLUE he was a man more of a dreamer a token of rigidity and his best defenses the paint runs thin the bottle is empty nothing more to show but the naked truth inside of me tommy blue, where are you now? tommy blue, i spoke through you he'd call the shots but he'd always back down always knew what to say when there was nobody else around he could leave a stone in my heart or put a demon in my soul so alive to saint a sinner but he could not save his own tommy blue, where are you now? tommy blue, i spoke through you to the common artist he seemed so insecure always apt to sell his soul and then buy it back for more a dolphin in his daily and a shark behind the wheel a washed-up political satirist with his arms around the world tommy blue, where are you now? tommy blue, i spoke through you -October 1993
