lyrics

WHITE-WASH

come take a walk with my ambition
it tastes like mire on your tongue
let go of all your inhibition
and melt your faith into the sun
the moon has eyes, they watch your every move
but in the shade, they'd never get to you
behind the trees there lies the
key to all your senses
what you gonna do?
you always lock the door behind you
it's not too silent in these parts
you spray your face shades of humility
and somehow try to call it art

no i never had time to complain
nor did i have time to say hello
and these lines, they build
like a white-wash on your faith

another band plays in the alley
their eyes are closed, but they're not alone
the audience, they'll sneer and snicker
til the curtain falls, dry as a bone
but i never sowed my seeds on this crowd
i never shined my light on these walls
i'd never shit the truth
just to keep myself from falling out
and the voices in my head are singing
so out of key, i barely know the tune
and the telephone just keeps on ringing
but i left my body way too soon

no i never had time to complain
nor did i have time to say hello
and these lines, they build
like a white-wash on your faith
